The Four Seasons Hotel Firenze is built within a historic complex of extraordinary significance, with Renaissance buildings, loggias, age-old frescoed halls and the Gherardesca Garden, one of the city’s most picturesque private parks.
Intervening here meant facing a unique cultural stratification, where every decision taken had to be interconnected with centuries of history. EXA Group’s painstaking work on the finishes and custom-made elements integrated new standards of comfort to enhance the heritage of the places. The spaces involved – rooms, common areas and service areas – demanded specific processes, craftsmanship and a special sensitivity in coordinating materials, colours and atmospheres. What resulted is a measured balance, an experience that celebrates the architectural heritage of the building while projecting it into the present with naturalness.
