WaltherPark in Bolzano is one of the most noteworthy urban redevelopment works recently completed in Italy. This mixed-use complex numbering over 120,000 square metres brings together retail, residences, offices, hospitality areas and services. The food court plays the role of “experiential driver” of the complex. This food and beverage destination draws streams of visitors, increases their stay time and reinforces the public identity of the project.
The WaltherPark food and beverage area was designed by TAA as a group of gastronomic kiosks and interconnected dining zones. EXA Group executed the project as general contractor, and coordinated the systems, finishes and fixed furnishings of the 18 restaurants. The coffee bar, bread counter and vegetarian kiosk, conceived as internal landmarks able to direct streams of customers and activate the view of the food hall are three of the most characterising elements.
An integrating part of the new district, the food court contributes to defining the public nature of the enormous project. It is completed by greenery, squares and pedestrian paths that redesign the accessibility and use of the area.
